The Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS), chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, approved the project worth over ₹40,000 crore. The government plans to award the construction contract to two public-sector shipbuilders: Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers (GRSE) in Kolkata and Goa Shipyard Limited in Goa.

The Goa Government, under Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant's leadership, has taken a major step towards long-term energy security. At the Vibrant Goa Global Business Summit 2026, the state signed a ₹5,000-crore MoU with ANVI to establish its first LPG import, storage and distribution terminal at Mormugao Port. The project will provide storage capacity equivalent to eight to nine months of Goa's LPG consumption, while creating jobs and strengthening the state's economic future.

For a small state like Goa, maintaining a revenue surplus while investing in infrastructure, healthcare, education, and public welfare is a significant achievement. With limited geographical area and a relatively smaller resource base compared with larger states, Goa must carefully manage its finances to meet growing public needs while sustaining economic development.

Goa is not just cleaning its beautiful beaches, towns and neighbourhoods; it is turning waste into wealth! Instead of treating garbage as something to simply collect and discard, the Goa Government is transforming waste into a valuable resource. Through scientific waste processing, the state supplies nearly 75,000 metric tonnes of refuse-derived fuel (RDF) to cement plants every year while reclaiming land occupied by legacy garbage dumps.

Good governance is not measured only by the schemes a government introduces or the infrastructure it builds. It is also measured by how easily an ordinary citizen can access government services, resolve grievances and receive the benefits they are entitled to. When a file remains unattended, an application faces unnecessary objections or an official delays a citizen's work, it directly affects public trust in the administration. This is where vigilance and accountability become essential to effective governance.

The Goa Government advanced its artificial intelligence agenda at the Goa AI Tech Conclave 2026, organised by the Department of Information Technology, Electronics & Communications in Panaji on October 22–23. The conclave brought together technology leaders, startups, researchers and students to explore AI applications across governance, tourism, industry and sustainability. Key initiatives included the unveiling of the Goa AI Policy 2026, the launch of the Goa AI Hackathon and a focus on training 50,000 people in AI by 2030.
